BRITSpA Lead – Helena Marzo Ortega/Pedro Machado/Margaret Hall-Craggs
BRITSpA is leading a new UK collaborative initiative in conjunction with expert radiology members of the British Society for Musculoskeletal Radiology to develop a consensus statement for the use of MRI of the spine and sacroiliac joints in axSpA.
The aim is to seek standardize practice in the UK. The project convenors are Helena Marzo-Ortega and Pedro Machado (rheumatologists) and Margaret Hall-Craggs (radiologist). Timothy Bray (Radiology SpR and PhD student at UCL) will be the fellow responsible for the SLR.
The first meeting of the working party took place at the Leeds Musculoskeletal Biomedical Research Unit in Chapel Allerton Hospital, Leeds last 19th January 2017. The second and final meeting is expected to take place towards the end of the year once the results of the updated SLR are available for discussion.
