This year BRITSpA was pleased to run its first abstract competition, with twelve submissions considered and four delegates asked to present. The Inaugural BRITSpA meeting was held in Birmingham on the 16th and 17th September 2015. The attendance was excellent and attending by a variety of healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and academics.
It was good to see so many people staying late in the conference to attend the SIG update chaired by Bruce Kirkham (Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, London) and Toni Chan (Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust, Reading) who had put together an exciting programme.
The BRITSpA executive met on the 22nd April 2015 at the Royal College of Physicians. A number of topics were discussed including the strategy of the organisation, research and the upcoming Inaugural BRITSpA meeting.
